Fast and accurate cell detection solutions for different biological fields

3D bioprinter

3D bioprinting is poised to become a key technology for future organ manufacturing, and one critical factor for successful organ 3D printing is the use of high-concentration, high-viability cells. The fully automated fluorescence cell counter Tuger is employed to analyze cell samples before bioprinting and cells within the printed three-dimensional models. This analysis is of significant importance for producing high-quality 3D models and evaluating the impact of the 3D bioprinting process on cell viability.

Cell Thawing Experiment

A cell thawer is a laboratory device used for the rapid and safe thawing of cryopreserved cell samples. It is widely applied in fields such as cell culture and biopharmaceuticals. Its core function lies in precise temperature control and programmed operation, which help to maximize cell viability during the thawing process while avoiding contamination or temperature fluctuation-related damage that may occur with traditional water bath methods.

GFP Gene Transfection

During the transfection experiment, the GFP gene was linked to the target gene and introduced into the target cells, resulting in co-expression of GFP and the target gene. Due to the fluorescent properties of GFP, the fluorescence signals in these cells can be detected using a fluorescence microscope or a fluorescence cell analyzer. By observing and counting the cells exhibiting green fluorescence, the expression and activity level of the target gene in the cells can be indirectly assessed.

AO/PI Viability

The AO/PI dual-fluorescence staining method distinguishes live and dead cells by using two fluorescent dyes: acridine orange (AO) and propidium iodide (PI). AO can penetrate intact cell membranes and binds to the DNA and RNA of live cells, causing them to emit green fluorescence. PI can only enter dead cells with compromised membranes, where it binds to DNA and emits red fluorescence. This method helps to exclude impurities and debris from the cell samples, enabling accurate assessment of cell viability.

Accuracy and reproducibility

Cell research is critical across multiple fields, where precise calculation of cell count and viability is a key of step. According to GB/T42076.1-2022, both the hemocytometer method and image analysis method are current national standard methods for cell counting. The efficiency of cell counting (usually measured by the time taken per sample), accuracy (typically benchmarked against manual counting), and reproducibility (commonly evaluated by the coefficient of variation, CV, from multiple measurements of the same sample) are essential parameters for cell counting devices. Newtonoptic cell counter utilizes automated image acquisition combined with proprietary algorithms to deliver test results such as cell concentration and viability within one second, providing highly reproducible data. This enables users to rapidly obtain accurate experimental data.

Newton into the world of cosmetics

In our daily life, we will inevitably come into contact with a lot of "cosmetics". In the "Regulations on the Administration of Cosmetic Labels" published by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, cosmetics are defined as smearing, spraying or other similar methods, scattered on any part of the human body surface, such as skin, hair, toenails, lips and teeth, etc., in order to clean, maintain, beautify, modify and change the appearance, or correct the smell of the human body, chemical industrial products or fine chemical products for the purpose of maintaining good condition.

[Newton Footprint] Walk into Fujian Provincial Institute of Abdominal Surgery to help scientific research!

The human abdomen is distributed with liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, stomach and many other organs, each of which bears important physiological functions. For example, the liver is involved in metabolic processes in the body and has the effects of secreting hormones and detoxification. If infected with viruses such as hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus or bad habits such as staying up late for a long time, drinking alcohol, etc., it may cause damage to liver cells, thereby causing damage to liver function, causing liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, liver cancer and other diseases. Among them, liver cancer is a very serious malignant tumor, with a relatively fast growth rate, a relatively high degree of malignancy, and a relatively short survival time of patients. It is also called "cancer king".
